Sit on top of preference

Which model to choose?

The propulsion is handled with the feet (one is often more beefy legs than arms). There are two types of propulsion: propellers and blades (invented by Hobie). For propellers, we pedal as on a bike to rotate it (forwards or backwards), with the blades, we operate a step movement (front-rear) with an inverter (joystick) to change the direction of direction. This type of kayak is equipped with a saffron that is operated with a joystick.

Both systems have identical power and allow speeds in the range of 5 to 6 km / h or more in calm sea. At the time of the drift, during the fishing phase, the propulsion with the feet makes it possible to compensate the wind or the current and to keep its kayak exactly on the fishing zone.

But beware, if your kayak is equipped with pedals, you will always have the obligation to have a paddle with you, it is regulatory.

Today, manufacturers offer models already designed for fishing with many accessories or solutions to adapt them to the kayak (mounting rail, net, holding elastic, chests ...).
